Zoom calls can be kind of unpredictable, but it’s usually pretty easy to avoid broadcasting porn right in the middle of one. That’s what happened during an Italian senate meeting, which had lawmakers gather to discuss, ironically enough, data transparency. Just as Giorgio Parisi, a recent Nobel Prize winner in physics, was being introduced, someone started playing a CG-animated video of Final Fantasy VII‘s Tifa Lockhart doin’ the nasty.
The unofficial FFVII porn blasted on screen for all to see thanks to someone hijacking the call, and while the host—Five Star Movement Senator Maria Laura Mantovani—was at first unaware and attempted to keep talking, a man then shouted something about a “sex offender” in Italian and those hosting promptly worked to kill the audio feed.
Not only was this Zoom call streaming live on Facebook, it was also apparently broadcast on Italy’s C-SPAN-style network Senato TV. While it’s still unclear who was behind this, we’re pretty sure everyone in that meeting—which is still available with the offending footage edited out—will have Tifa etched in their memories for the foreseeable future.
