Every year, the chilly northern city of Sapporo holds the Sapporo Snow Festival, a tribute to that delightful white powder from the sky.
One of the best things about the festival is the number of intricate ice sculptures that pop up during the course of the event. And this being Japan, you can be sure a number of them are otaku-related.
One of the coolest has got to be this Final Fantasy VII tribute, which includes Cloud, Sephiroth and the iconic Shinra Building. This sculpture even came with 3D projection mapping when the sun went down.

Star Wars also made an appearance at the festival, with droids C-3PO, R2-D2, BB-8 and the galaxy’s whiniest Sith, Kylo Ren.

Here’s Pikachu, doing that Pineapple Pen thing that can go away now, thanks.
Godzilla!
All very cool stuff – but someone really missed an opportunity by not making an ice sculpture from Yuri on Ice. Right?
