Ratings for Toonami’s March airing of Evangelion 1.11 were good, with 959,000 tuning in when it aired, but the August 31 airing of its sequel, Evangelion 2.22, did even better. The second Rebuild film pulled in 1.097 million viewers on Saturday.
Those who stuck around after the film were treated to a surprise airing of Masaaki Yuasa’s Kick-Heart. The short anime that was crowd-funded on Kickstarter nabbed 708,000 pairs of eyeballs. Here’s the full ratings breakdown for the August 31 Toonami block:
