Typically Square Enix publishes the Dragon Quest titles themselves, though that changed this past summer with the grand release of Dragon Quest IX. With faith firmly planted in the title, Nintendo took over publishing duties, which says a lot about the quality of the series’ most recent entry.
With that in mind, Nintendo’s decision to publish the latest DS port/update, Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation, should speak volumes of DQIX‘s success for the Big N. They’ll start peddling Square Enix’s role-playing wares on February 14, 2011.
Another significant aspect of this release is the fact that it was never brought stateside in the first place. DQVI wraps up the “Zenithia Trilogy” that started with DQIV.
