New characters and new adventures are on the horizon for Goku and friends in Dragon Ball Daima, which is on the way to TV screens this October. The series, which has Goku back in pint-sized form, was first announced last October, and now we have a new look thanks to a fresh trailer, visual and character art.
First up, the exciting new trailer:
Dragon Ball Daima Trailer
The visual promises a great adventure based upon the work of the late Akira Toriyama:
Pictured next to Goku in the image are some of the featured characters, with new ones to his left. Those include, from left to right, Gomah, Masked Majin and Glorio. You’ll also see Supreme Kai, Vegeta and Piccolo to Goku’s right.
Yoshitaka Yashima and Aya Komaki are directing Dragon Ball Daima, with Yuko Kakihara on series composition and Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru on character designs at Toei Animation. The original story and character design credits go to Akira Toriyama.
VIZ Media publishes the various Dragon Ball manga series in English, and gave this description for the first volume of Dragon Ball:
Dragon Ball Synopsis
Before there was Dragon Ball Z, there was Akira Toriyama’s action epic Dragon Ball, starring the younger version of Son Goku and all the other Dragon Ball Z heroes! Meet a naive young monkey-tailed boy named Goku, whose quiet life changes when he meets Bulma, a girl who is on a quest to collect seven “Dragon Balls.” If she gathers them all, an incredibly powerful dragon will appear and grant her one wish. But the precious orbs are scattered all over the world, and Bulma needs Goku’s help (and his super-strength)! With a magic staff for a weapon and a flying cloud for a ride, Goku sets out on the adventure of a lifetime…
