The third season of Dr. STONE was made at TMS Entertainment and Die4Studio, with Shuhei Matsushita helming the project as director.

The three existing seasons — as well as the special Dr. STONE: Ryusui — are available to watch in America on Crunchyroll. Crunchyroll gave this description for its story:

Dr. STONE Plot

Several thousand years after a mysterious phenomenon that turns all of humanity to stone, the extraordinarily intelligent, science-driven boy, Senku Ishigami, awakens.

Facing a world of stone and the total collapse of civilization, Senku makes up his mind to use science to rebuild the world. Starting with his super strong childhood friend Taiju Oki, who awakened at the same time, they will begin to rebuild civilization from nothing…

Depicting two million years of scientific history from the Stone Age to present day, the unprecedented crafting adventure story is about to begin!

Dr. STONE NEW WORLD debuted in April 2023. It was split into two cours, as we’re seeing happen more often in anime, with the second cours following in October. The very first episode of the series came out in 2019, followed by season two in January of 2021. In addition to being available on Crunchyroll, the series has also been airing on Adult Swim’s Toonami.

The original manga by Riichiro Inagaki and Boichi consists of 26 volumes, all of which have been published in America by VIZ Media.
