Doraemon Stars in First CG-Animated Film

Lovable robot cat Doraemon is dipping his toes in something new for the 80th anniversary of his creator. Stand by Me Doraemon will be the first 3D CG-animated film in the franchise, and it’s currently scheduled to be released in Japan next summer.

Takashi Yamazaki (Space Battleship Yamato) co-directs with Ryuichi Yagi (Friends: Mononoke Shima no Naki), and the story is based on the first episode of the manga and two of the most popular episodes that followed (“Sayonara, Doraemon” and “Nobita’s Night Before Wedding”).
