Discotek Licenses Mazinger Z and Cutie Honey

This past weekend saw the announcement of two new licenses from Discotek Media, and they’re a couple of real doozies for fans of classic anime. Discotek saw fit to dip into the iconic catalog of Go Nagai by picking up both the complete 1973 Cutie Honey anime and all 92 episodes of super robot series Mazinger Z.

Cutie Honey will be released in a complete DVD box set next year, containing all 25 episodes, while the first set of Mazinger Z is gunning for release at the end of 2013. Both series are based on the respective manga created by Go Nagai, with Toei Animation producing the anime versions.
