Avengers: Infinity War has been smashing box office records since it opened last Friday, but there’s one pint-sized super sleuth Thanos can’t quite figure out how to dominate. Despite it being the third weekend for the 22nd Detective Conan anime film, Detective Conan: Zero the Enforcer still managed to sell more tickets than the opening weekend of Avengers in Japan.
Zero the Enforcer came in at number one with 453,000 tickets during the April 28-29 weekend, which put it at 16,000 tickets higher than Avengers. Infinity War pulled in 672 million yen with 437,000 tickets sold, and the numbers were actually down from 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron in Japan.
