Demon Slayer: Mugen Train Movie Returning to US Theaters in 4K

Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train broke all sorts of records when it hit theaters in 2020. While other movies were faltering during the COVID pandemic, it went on to rake in $500 million from around the globe and become the most successful Japanese movie on an international stage. It’s also the most successful movie in its home country of Japan. Now Crunchyroll and Aniplex of America have revealed they’re bringing the film back to the big screen in America, Canada and “select international regions.”

You can mark your calendars for May 14 as the release date, and it will be in 4K. Fans can choose to watch it dubbed or subbed (or both, just not at the same time).

Crunchyroll dropped this English subbed trailer along with the announcement.

People can begin buying tickets on April 30.

This is all happening a few months in advance of the North American theatrical release of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle, which will hit the big screen on September 12. There will be three Infinity Castle movies, and they will conclude the Demon Slayer anime series.

Crunchyroll, which is also streaming Mugen Train and the Demon Slayer series on its platform, gave this description for the Mugen Train film:
