There may not be an anime adaptation (that we know of) on the way for Inio Asano’s Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction, but we got a taste of what one could look like thanks to a new CG-animated short. PC manufacturer Mouse Computer linked up with director Kohta Morie (Cup Noodle’s “Hungry Days” One Piece commercials) to imagine the manga as an anime, and the results are pretty stunning.
The collaboration came about because Asano has been using Mouse Computer’s DAIV brand of PCs for years. See what a Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction anime might look like below.
Inio Asano’s Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction manga has been running in Shogakukan’s Big Comic Spirits magazine since 2014 and has been collected so far across nine volumes. VIZ Media publishes the series in English and describes it like so:
The Japan Self-Defense Forces are still looking for a way to combat the alien threat, but so far conventional weapons have had no effect. Maybe it’s time to try something unconventional. Meanwhile, Kadode Koyama and her best friend avidly track the aliens’ movements on social media and less enthusiastically study for college entrance exams. When the end of the world looms overhead, you learn to take things one step at a time.
