Crunchyroll Announces Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero for Theaters Around the World

Shortly after Toei Animation gave the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero anime film a new date in Japan, we have confirmation that the film will be released around the world. Crunchyroll announced plans to bring Super Hero to theaters both subtitled and dubbed in North America, Latin America, Europe, Australia/New Zealand, Africa, the Middle East and Asia (excluding Japan), with a release currently penciled in for sometime this summer.

More details—including premiere dates, cast announcements and ticket information—will be announced later. For now, you can see a new English-subtitled trailer below. 

Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama handled the original story, screenplay and character designs for Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, and Tetsuro Kodama is directing. Here’s the official synopsis:

The Red Ribbon Army was once destroyed by Son Goku. Individuals, who carry on its spirit, have created the ultimate Androids, Gamma 1 and Gamma 2. These two Androids call themselves “Super Heroes”. They start attacking Piccolo and Gohan… What is the New Red Ribbon Army’s objective? In the face of approaching danger, it is time to awaken, Super Hero!
