Capcom Opens the Floodgates on Marvel vs. Capcom 3, More

It may be early, but it’s safe to say the day officially belongs to Capcom. The beloved publisher unleashed a slew of announcements today, both concerning titles set to emerge this year, and looking forward to 2011.

Chief among those is the announcement of Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds, the continuing saga of pitting two powerhouses against one another; a gimmick with which Capcom is intimately familiar. Though it doesn’t really show much, a teaser debute to give everyone a fleeting taste of things to come in Spring 2011.

They also announced the existence of Bionic Commando Rearmed 2, scheduled for release in Q1 2011, which will break the minds of some fans with the added ability to jump. “Sacrilege,” they cry! Though GRIN, developer of the first Rearmed and the retail semi-flop, has since been dissolved, members of the former studio are a part of Fatshark, which is developing the sequel.

Even better news comes for fans of zombie mall-chopper Dead Rising. Capcom let it be known today that Dead Rising 2 will feature full two-player co-op play through the entire main campaign. That’s… really good news. It looks like 2010 is really shaping up to be a big one for Capcom, much like 2009.

Check out previews of the latter two here and here, respectively. [Joystiq]
