Break of Dawn Sci-Fi Manga Gets Anime Film This Fall

Break of Dawn Sci-Fi Manga Gets Anime Film This FallBreak of Dawn (Bokura no Yoake), the science fiction manga by Tetsuya Imai, is getting a theatrical anime film that’s due out in Japan this fall.

The manga, which ran for two volumes’ worth of content back in 2011, is set in 2049, and is about a comet headed straight for earth, and a young boy who meets an alien who’s somehow connected with said comet.

Western readers may be familiar with Imai through Alice & Zoroku, which is published in English by Seven Seas, and received an anime adaptation.

If you’re a fan of that manga, Break of Dawn is probably right up your alley. Looking forward to checking out this film when it hits in the fall.

Here’s how Seven Seas describes Alice & Zoroku:

Sana possesses an unbelievable power: she can turn imagination into reality! But as a young girl who only just escaped from the ominous “Laboratory,” she’s never experienced the “Outside world” before. She barely even knows how to use her powers! But just when she’s about to give up, Sana meets Zoroku, a stubborn, old Japanese man. He believes that people should always “do the right thing”- psychic powers or no! Sana’s destiny is about to change in a big way…
