Over Anime Expo weekend it was announced that the Blue Exorcist anime will have two arcs airing back to back, following the act of the Shimane Illuminati Saga that premiered in January 2024. First up is the -Beyond the Snow Saga- arc in October 2024, with -The Blue Night Saga- arc following in January 2025. While we wait, a new character trailer arrived to put the spotlight firmly on Rin Okumura.

Daisuke Yoshida directed the most recent season, with Toshiya Ohno on series composition and Yurie Daito handling character designs and chief animation direction for the Studio VOLN production. Music comes from KOHTA YAMAMOTO and Hiroyuki Sawano. The staff is returning for the new seasons, and the new opening them will have Reol performing “Re Rescue.” Crunchyroll will continue to stream it alongside its broadcast in Japan.
Based on the manga by Kazue Kato, Blue Exorcist previously aired two TV anime seasons prior to Shimane Illuminati Saga, and there was also an anime film.

Blue Exorcist Synopsis
Raised by Father Fujimoto, a famous exorcist, Rin Okumura never knew his real father. One day a fateful argument with Father Fujimoto forces Rin to face a terrible truth—the blood of the demon lord Satan runs in Rin’s veins! Rin swears to defeat Satan, but doing that means entering the mysterious True Cross Academy and becoming an exorcist himself. Can Rin fight demons and keep his infernal bloodline a secret? It won’t be easy, especially when drawing his father’s sword releases the demonic power within him!
