The Black Lagoon manga has been on hold since early 2014, but author Rei Hiroe has some big plans in store for the coming year. Shogakukan’s Monthly Sunday GX magazine announced that the manga will be returning in spring 2017, and Hiroe is also working on an unrelated original anime project that will premiere in the same year.
The anime project is called Re: Creators, and Hiroe is billed as character designer and developer of the original concept. The anime will be directed by Ei Aoki (Fate/Zero, Aldnoah.Zero), who is teaming up with Hiroe on series composition for the TROYCA production.
A teaser trailer is set to debut this coming Monday, with the full promo to follow at Comiket 91.
