A trailer has dropped for the upcoming anime Betrothed to My Sister’s Ex (based on the novels known as Zutaboro Reijō wa Ane no Moto Konyakusha ni Dekiai Sareru). The trailer lets us know that the show will launch on July 4, and you can hear the opening theme song titled “Gesshoku” (translated as “Lunar Eclipse”) being performed by krage.

The ending theme song is called “Marie” and performed by Myuk. You can hear it in this commercial:

Additional members of the cast were disclosed:
- Minami Tanaka (Ran-Ran in Dropkick on My Devil!) plays Anastasia,
- Ryōhei Kimura (Ryōta Kise in Kuroko’s Basketball) plays Louisphon
- Yōko Hikasa (Freya in Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?) plays Mio
- Sayaka Ohara (Masaki Kurosaki in Bleach) plays Ryu-Ryu
It had already been revealed that Rena Motomura (Kyōka Kitahara in Maebashi Witches) plays Marie and Daiki Hamano (Toguro Okunaga in Beyblade X) plays Kyuros.
The franchise started as a novel series by Tobirano and also has a manga adaptation. Seven Seas Entertainment has licensed both, and gave this description for the story’s plot:
Betrothed to My Sister’s Ex Plot
Marie has spent her life living under her sister’s shadow as the two grew up in an impoverished baron’s home. Every nice thing went to Marie’s sister, leaving her without even a proper dress! And right when her sister was being married off to a wealthy Earl–tragedy strikes and Marie’s sister is killed en route. With the dowry already spent, it’s decided that Marie will take her sister’s place and become the Earl’s betrothed. But, when she gets there, she finds there’s been a serious mix-up—the proposal was a total misunderstanding! Can Marie win the heart of the handsome Earl, or is she destined to live a life without a single nice thing?
