Behind the Scenes of a Rock Lee Anime Spin-Off Fight

The super-deformed Naruto spin-off, Rock Lee & His Ninja Pals, may be cute, but it still manages to pack a punch. A good example of this came along with a recent season finale, which included a really nicely animated battle between our hero and Sasuke.

For those interested in the animation process, Studio Pierrot shared a look behind the scenes with some animatics that show how the battle was constructed. See what went into just a portion of episode 51, featuring work by animator Hiroyuki Yamashita, below.
