Bastard!! -Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy- Confirms Release Date

Some new information has just come out about the upcoming anime adaptation of Bastard!! -Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy- . For starters, the anime will debut globally on June 30, on Netflix. The first part of the anime will consist of thirteen episodes. The second part of the anime will consist of eleven episodes, and it will begin sometime later in 2022, though an exact date for that has not been revealed.

We also learned more about the cast: Yoshitsugu Matsuoka will play Lars, Ari Ozawa will play Sean Ari, Shizuka Itou will play Kai Harn, and Takehito Koyasu will play Di-amon.

Other members of the cast had been previously revealed: Kish Taniyama plays Dark Schneider, Tomori Kusunoki plays Tia Noto Yoko, Hiroki Yasumoto plays Gara, Y ko Hikasa plays Arshes Nei, Kanae It plays Lucien Renlen, Tomokazu Sugita plays Abigail, Kensho Ono plays Kall-Su, and Nao T yama plays Sheila Tuel Meta-Ilicana.

The anime is being made at LIDEN FILMS, with Takaharu Ozaki of Goblin Slayer working as the director. The task of being in charge of series scripts goes to Yousuke Kuroda, who previously has worked on My Hero Academia and Mobile Suit Gundam 00. The music is being composed by Yasuharu Takanashi of Naruto Shippuden and Fairy Tail. It’s being produced by Warner Bros. Japan. Kazuhiro Inoue is listed as the art director and “creature design” goes to Raita Sunaga.

The opening theme song will be performed by coldrain. Meanwhile, the ending theme song will be performed by Tielle.

The original manga was created by Kazushi Hagiwara, starting back in 1988. VIZ Media has partially published the series in English, though it cancelled the twentieth volume. More than thirty million copies of the original manga are out in circulation, making it a very popular series.
