Amazon Japan Offers Special Manga-Centric Kindle

Ladies, gentlemen, start your jealousy engines.

Amazon is offering a special model of their popular e-reader designed around manga reading – but only in Japan.

What makes this new Kindle so manga-y? For one, it offers 32GB of storage space, compared to the 4GB on your average model. Secondly, they’ve coaxed more speed of out of the reader’s e-ink, offering up a “rapid page turn” mode. Makes sense, considering the speed which I’ve seen businessmen blow through pages of Jump on the subway here in Tokyo.

The manga Kindle goes on sale in a couple days and goes for ¥16,280 (about $160) with ads or ¥18,280 (about $180) without.
