WarnerMedia Studios and Networks Group has moved some things around. The adult animation teams for Adult Swim and HBO Max have become a single unit, and Suzanna Makkos has been tapped for the job of executive vice president of original comedy and adult animation.
Before Makkos moved to WarnerMedia in 2019, she spent two decades at Fox Broadcasting. She was executive vice president of Comedy Programming & Development and worked on Bob’s Burgers, Duncanville, Great North and Bordertown.
Sarah Aubrey is the head of original content at HBO Max and Michael Ouweleen is the president of Adult Swim, and Makkos will be reporting to them. HBO MAX has the Ghibli library and some anime, and Adult Swim plays anime like Demon Slayer, Attack on Titan and Dragon Ball Super.
