A Sign of Affection Manga Nabs Anime Adaptation

Su Morishita’s A Sign of Affection manga—known in Japan as Yugisaki to Renren—is officially getting an anime adaptation. With the romance story on the way to the small screen, the first teaser trailer and visual made their way online along with the first info on the cast and staff.

Check it out ahead of the planned January 2024 premiere: 

Yuta Murano (Kakushigoto) is directing the A Sign of Affection anime, with Yoko Yonaiyama (Ya Boy Kongming!) on series composition, Kasumi Sakai on character designs and Yukari Hashimoto on music for the studio Ajiado production.

Cast so far includes Sumire Morohoshi (Fumino in Skip and Loafer) as Yuki Itose and Yu Miyazaki (Quartz in I’m the Villainess, So I’m Taming the Final Boss) as Itsuomi Nagi, both pictured below.

Kodansha USA publishes the manga in English and describes the story like so:

Yuki is a typical college student, whose world revolves around her friends, social media, and the latest sales. But when a chance encounter on a train leads to her meeting friend-of-a-friend and fellow student Itsuomi-san, her world starts to widen. But even though Itsuomi-kun can speak three languages, sign language isn’t one of them. Can the two learn to communicate the budding feelings between them?
