Studio Trigger is home to a number of former Gainax animators, including co-founder Hiroyuki Imaishi, director of Gurren Lagann. You may have seen some of their oddball web series, Inferno Cop, and now the studio is back with a preview of the anime short Little Witch Academia.
Little Witch Academia is an entry in the government-funded Anime Mirai Young Animator Training Project, and is helmed by Panty & Stocking episode director Yoh Yoshinari.
This and other shorts are set to open in 14 theaters throughout Japan on March 2.
