The beginning of the end is nigh for the My Hero Academia anime, which closes out its adaptation of Kohei Horikoshi’s superheroic manga with the final season starting October 4. We’re less than two months out from the event, so TOHO animation came through with a main trailer and a look at the theme song details.
Porno Graffitti previously performed the first anime opening, “THE DAY,” and now the band is set to return for My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON opening song “THE REVO.”

All of the main staff is on-board to reprise their roles for the season. That means Naomi Nakayama is back in the director’s seat, Yōsuke Kuroda is back to supervise the scripts, Yuki Hayashi is back to compose the music, Yoshihiko Umakoshi and Hitomi Odashima are back to handle character designs, and BONES remains the studio involved.
VIZ Media publishes the original manga by Kohei Horikoshi and gave this description for its plot:
Middle school student Izuku Midoriya wants to be a hero more than anything, but he hasn’t got an ounce of power in him. With no chance of ever getting into the prestigious U.A. High School for budding heroes, his life is looking more and more like a dead end. Then an encounter with All Might, the greatest hero of them all, gives him a chance to change his destiny…
The manga got its start in the pages of Weekly Shonen Jump in July 2014, and it wrapped up last August.
