Manga author duo so-ma-to’s Shadows House manga took a break earlier this year in preparation for its final arc, and now another hiatus is upon it. As revealed in this year’s 51st issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump magazine, the series will be going on a three-week hiatus this time.
This break is a little different from the updated schedule so-ma-to previously detailed. Typically, the series will publish two chapters, and then take a break for the following two issues in a continuous cycle. The manga’s original storywriter has not been in great health of late.
Shadows House is set to return to the pages of Young Jump when the magazine’s third issue of 2025 hits stands in Japan on December 19, 2024.
The series has been collected in 18 volumes as of September 2024, and it previously inspired a TV anime adaptation. There are currently two seasons of the anime, with the first airing in April 2021 and the second following in July 2022. Both seasons are available to stream on Crunchyroll.
Yen Press publishes the manga in English and sums up the story like so:
Shadows House Synopsis
In the depths of a murky mansion lives a group of enigmatic nobles known as…the Shadow family. With no visible features to speak of, these mysterious aristocrats employ living dolls to act as their “faces.” Kate and Emilico are one such pair of mistress and servant, dwelling in their own little world and learning from each other bit by bit with every new day. But in a house of locked doors, living according to rules from no apparent source—how long can their blissfully peaceful existence truly last…?
