City Hunter creator Tsukasa Hojo’s Cat Eye manga is about to come back for more with a new adaptation. In addition to the Disney Twisted-Wonderland news, Disney’s showcase event in Singapore revealed that a new anime adaptation is in the works, eyeing an exclusive debut on Disney+ sometime in 2025.
You can check out the special teaser movie below, which has Ado performing the 1983 anime’s opening song, Anri’s “Cat’s Eye.”

Here’s what Ado had to say about the opportunity:
“With the greatest respect, I covered the original theme song, ‘CAT’S EYE,’ under the arrangement of Yuki Hayashi-san. When I sang the song, I respected Anri-san and mixed her 80s singing style with my own colors. How did you like it? It is a great honor for me to be involved as a singer in a beloved and legendary work that has returned to the present day with renewed brilliance. We hope this song conveys both new and nostalgic feelings. And together, let’s enjoy the new series of Cat’s Eye!”

Further details, like specific format, cast and staff, have yet to be revealed.
Tsukasa Hojo’s manga ran in the pages of Weekly Shonen Jump from 1981 to 1985, inspiring a 36-episode TV anime from 1983-1984, followed by a 37-episode sequel from 1984-1985.
Coamix publishes the English edition of the manga via its MangaHotto app, describing it like so:
A mysterious art thief named Cat’s Eye exclusively goes after the works of European painter Michael Heinz. Detective Toshio Utsumi fails to arrest Cat’s Eye at every turn, getting scolded by his boss, and even facing demotion. Toshio’s girlfriend Hitomi Kisugi, who runs a café near the precinct which shares the name of this thief, is always there to listen to his gripes and give him a pick-me-up. Little does he know that Hitomi and her sisters are actually Cat’s Eye.
