Attack on Titan The Movie: THE LAST ATTACK Getting New Footage

attack on titan: the last attack

Attack on Titan The Movie: THE LAST ATTACK, which will hit Japanese theaters on Friday, November 8, is billed as a compilation film. But that doesn’t mean it’s all going to be recycled footage from Attack on Titan Final Season THE FINAL CHAPTERS. The Attack on Titan TV anime shared on its social media that the movie will receive a “new post-credits scene.”

This teasing information is all that we have right now, meaning they’re staying mum on the details of the new scene.

Director Yuichiro Hayashi remarked that he “originally drew the storyboards [for THE FINAL CHAPTERS] with the idea that it would be watched as a single movie. So, having the opportunity to have everyone watch it in the best possible environment, the theater, is a dream come true for me.”

Attack on Titan The Movie: THE LAST ATTACK is two hours and fifteen minutes in length. As of now, there’s no word on if it might also find its way to American cinema. With more anime movies reaching the American big screen, it’s possible that this movie will someday be in the U.S. box office.

The original Attack on Titan manga is published in America by Kodansha USA Publishing, which gave this description for the plot:

Attack on Titan Plot

A century ago, the grotesque giants known as Titans appeared and consumed all but a few thousand humans. The survivors took refuge behind giant walls. Today, the threat of the Titans is a distant memory, and a boy named Eren yearns to explore the world beyond Wall Maria. But what began as a childish dream will become an all-too-real nightmare when the Titans return and humanity is once again on the brink of extinction…

Attack on Titan is the award-winning and New York Times-bestselling series that is the manga hit of the decade! Spawning the monster hit anime TV series of the same name, Attack on Titan has become a pop culture sensation.
