Tokyo Override CG Anime Hits Netflix November 21

Tokyo OverrideThe ‘flix has just announced that its new CG anime series called Tokyo Override will hit the streamer November 21.

The series is set in a future Tokyo in which AI is integrated into daily life — but a group of biker misfits discover that all is not well in this seemingly ideal city. It stars Ai Fairouz, Ryota Takeuchi, Tomoaki Maeno, Mariya Ise, Shigeru Chiba, Yu Serizawa, Hochu Otsuka, Miyu Irino, and Yuhko Kaida.

Fairouz plays a young hacker named Kai whose “life is suddenly turned upside down when she gets involved with a group of couriers from Suma Garage who specialize in unregulated deliveries for good causes,” says Netflix.

Tokyo Override is co-directed by Yuske Fukada and Veerapatra Jinanavin from RiFF Studio and features vehicle supervision from Yamaha and Honda. RiFF Studio, based in Thailand, is known for CG productions such as Mantra Warrior: The Legend of the Eight Moons, which played at this year’s Niigata International Animation Film Festival.

Here’s how Netflix describes the series:

In Tokyo Override, Kai, a loner, finds her life taking a turn after encountering a unique biker group. This opens a new chapter for her, filled with unexpected troubles, mysteries, betrayals, and other dramatic developments that accelerate the unpredictable story.

The series is directed by Yuske Fukada, a rising storyteller known for co-producing Ultimate Beastmaster with Sylvester Stallone, and Veerapatra Jinanavin, who combines Hollywood experience with Thai sensibilities to create advanced animation. In addition, the series features real-life models and custom-designed motorcycles, in collaboration with Yamaha Motor Co. and Honda Motor Co.
