One Piece Going on Hiatus, Remaking Fish-Man Island Saga

One Piece’s current Egghead Arc in the anime is going on hiatus, and it will return in April 2025. But you won’t be out of new viewing for episodes in the meantime. For starters, the ONE PIECE FAN LETTER special, which is dedicated to the series’ legacy, will air in Japan on October 20 and be simultaneously streamed by Crunchyroll. Then we’ll get to the One Piece Log: Fish-Man Island Saga starting on October 27.

You might be saying, “I’ve already watched Fish-Man Island Saga.” But this is going to be a bit different. It’s an abridged version that cuts the story down to 21 episodes, and it boasts having better visuals.

The songs are getting some changes as well. “We Go!,” the opening theme song performed by Hiroshi Kitadani, will get “a special guest collaboration” and additional information will be released in the future. Meanwhile, “Sailing,” the ending theme song performed by BE:FIRST, is receiving an “exciting new touch.” Like the ONE PIECE FAN LETTER special, these episodes are getting a simultaneous release through Crunchyroll.

Here is a visual.

Crunchyroll gave this description for the new version of One Piece Log: Fish-Man Island Saga:

Fish-Man Island Saga Plot

The Straw Hats reunite at Sabaody! The promised day has arrived. The Straw Hats have made it back to Sabaody Archipelago after two arduous years of separation. In the very same place where they once lost to Pacifista, the Straw Hats have proven themselves to be stronger and ready to begin their journey to the New World. With the Thousand Sunny now equipped to travel underwater, the next stop is the Fish-Man Island. “One Piece Log: Fish-Man Island Saga” is a special edited version of the original arc from “One Piece”, in an abridged 21-episode story with an enhanced contemporary visual look.
