The final storyline is here for manga author duo so-ma-to’s Shadows House manga, which has been running in the pages of Weekly Young Jump magazine since September 2018. According to this year’s 33rd issue of the magazine, the series has entered its final arc as of chapter 200’s ending. For now, though, the duo will be going on a brief hiatus.
The hiatus isn’t to prepare for the meat of the climax, but rather to accommodate for the author’s illness.
The Shadows House manga will return to Weekly Young Jump when the 38th issue hits stands on August 22, 2024.
The series has been collected in 17 volumes as of May 17, 2024, and it previously inspired a TV anime adaptation. There are currently two seasons of the anime, with the first airing in April 2021 and the second following in July 2022. Both seasons are available to stream on Crunchyroll.
Yen Press publishes the manga in English and sums up the story like so:
Shadows House Synopsis
In the depths of a murky mansion lives a group of enigmatic nobles known as…the Shadow family. With no visible features to speak of, these mysterious aristocrats employ living dolls to act as their “faces.” Kate and Emilico are one such pair of mistress and servant, dwelling in their own little world and learning from each other bit by bit with every new day. But in a house of locked doors, living according to rules from no apparent source—how long can their blissfully peaceful existence truly last…?
