Anime Expo’s “MY HERO ACADEMIA SPECIAL EVENT Hosted by TOHO animation” panel shared some exciting news: My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: You’re Next is coming to American theaters! TOHO International is behind the theatrical run, and, as you might guess, fans have the choice to watch it either dubbed or subbed.

My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: You’re Next will hit Japanese theaters next month, on August 2. North American fans will have to wait a little longer, as the debut here won’t occur until October 11.

People at Anime Expo were also offered the opportunity to check out the first 15 minutes of My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: You’re Next.

The movie is being made at BONES, with Tensai Okamura of Darker than Black helming the project as director. The script was penned by Yōsuke Kuroda. The theme song is titled “Homunculus” and performed by Vaundy. For those counting, this is the franchise’s fourth anime movie.

The movie contains an original story as opposed to being an adaptation from the manga. Mangaka Kohei Horikoshi is involved by being the general supervisor. My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: You’re Next’s storyline is set at approximately the same time as what’s going on in the TV anime right now.

VIZ Media publishes the original manga and gave this description for the first volume:

Middle school student Izuku Midoriya wants to be a hero more than anything, but he hasn’t got an ounce of power in him. With no chance of ever getting into the prestigious U.A. High School for budding heroes, his life is looking more and more like a dead end. Then an encounter with All Might, the greatest hero of them all, gives him a chance to change his destiny…
