Take’s Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! manga is taking a break, pushing back plans for the new chapter that was supposed to launch this month. According to the official social accounts, the manga has been placed on hiatus while Take recovers from COVID-19 following last month’s diagnosis.
Take said they are likely to suffer aftereffects from COVID, and despite physically recovering they lack the energy necessary to draw. Take is still drawing daily, but says the images are “weak,” and they don’t think they can keep drawing at the pace they’re accustomed to.
The series kicked off back in December 2017 and its 12th collected volume is set to launch in Japan on July 9, 2024. Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! previously inspired two seasons of anime.
Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the Uzaki-chan manga in English and describes the story:
Sakurai Shinichi’s one wish is for a little peace and quiet. But Uzaki Hana–his boisterous, well-endowed underclassman–has other plans. All she wants is to hang out and poke fun at him. With the help of her chipper charm and peppy persistence, this might just be the start of a beautiful relationship!
