As you’ve probably heard by now, more Pokémon Concierge is in production! The sweet stop-motion series has won fans all over the world, with some even calling it “the best Pokémon in decades.” And we’re inclined to agree: the (literal and emotional) softness of the series, combined with its healing vibes and good messages about self-care, strike a chord we didn’t know we needed from our monster-fighting franchise.
While the four episodes we got were charming, we’re already thinking ahead to what other types of stories we’d like to see. With hundreds of ‘mons out there, there are thousands of stories to tell. But here are a few things we’d like to see them take on when the show returns:
The Life of a Mimikyu
The last episode of Pokémon Concierge (so far) introduced us to an unusually shy Pikachu, showing us that even the franchise’s most beloved mascot is allowed to be themselves. With that well-loved Pokémon already addressed, we’d love to see some time given to Mimikyu: the lonely ‘mon who wants to make friends in the only way it knows how.
While we’ll likely never see what’s under that disguise (and that would sort of ruin the mystery), we think a little focus on Mimikyu would make for a charming episode about learning to be yourself. Plus, this dejected critter deserves all the love it can get.
Eevee…lutions
We saw a dynamic evolution already in Pokémon Concierge, but we’d love to see some more time spent on the many ways Eevee can evolve. Almost as beloved as Pikachu, Eevee is a ‘mon full of potential, with each of its grown-up selves dynamically different from the others. There are lots of potential stories to be told here, from the struggle to evolve to what happens if you don’t turn out quite the way you thought you would.
We’ll admit, though, we have a slight ulterior motive with this suggestion. While we absolutely believe there could be some good stories here, we also want to see as many Eeveelutions as possible rendered in that fluffy stop-motion style. Bonus points if they wag their tails!
Wait for It…
Perhaps we’re getting a little ahead of ourselves, but we can’t help but wonder… how would Pokémon Concierge handle a legendary Pokémon? Sure, they don’t have the same concerns as the usual clientele. At least, we’re pretty sure they don’t—godlike beings are generally on a whole other level. But how would the resort handle the arrival of a deity-level ‘mon? Do they have a protocol for that? Has it perhaps happened before?
In fairness, the arrival of a legendary Pokémon might be a little too intense for a laid-back series like this. But we’d also kind of love to see a Solgaleo lounging by the pool, taking a break from being a big deal. Even if it’s not the entire point of the episode, it would be an interesting occurrence.
Which Pokémon do you want to see when Pokémon Concierge returns?
