A Place Further Than The Universe Collector’s Edition Available for Pre-Order

Thanks to Anime Limited, the A Place Further Than The Universe Collector’s Edition will be here on April 22, and in the meantime, it’s available for pre-order here.

There are a number of goodies and bonuses for the collector’s edition. For starters, it contains all the episodes, and you have the option of watching it in the original Japanese or with a new English dub. For the dub, it has the voice talents of Xanthe Huynh, Ama Lee, Kayli Mills, Erica Mendez, Daisy Guevara, Cassandra Lee Morris, Caitlyn Elizabeth, Morgan Lauré, and Cristina Vee.

Moving on from there, the collector’s edition offers the original soundtrack on two CDs, a 92-page booklet, a 11.7” x 16.5” poster, four art cards, a clean opening, a clean ending, and a featurette on how the English dub was made.

A Place Further Than The Universe, which received the 2019 Anime Trending award for Anime of the Year, was directed by Atsuko Ishizuka, who also worked on Goodbye, Don Glees!, and No Game No Life. (You can check out Otaku USA’s 2022 interview with her here.) Jukki Hanada of Steins;Gate and Love Live! Superstar!! was in charge of series composition.

Shout! Studios, which is distributing the anime, gave this description for its plot:

Scenery that we have never seen. Sounds that we have never heard. Scent that we have never smelled. Food that we have never tasted. And the surge of emotion that we have never experienced. This is the expedition of recollecting the pieces torn apart and sensation left alone. When we reach that place, what will we think?

Howling, 40 degree angle. Raging, 50 degree angle. Shouting, 60 degree angle. A wilderness beyond the heavy sea. The furthest south, far from civilization. At the top of the Earth. We will find lights through the girls’ eyes to live tomorrow.
