The SPY×FAMILY franchise has a lot going on! The second season just wrapped up, the original movie SPY x FAMILY CODE: White hit Japanese theaters and is dominating the box office there, and the game SPYxANYA: Operation Memories came out in Japan. The game is scheduled to be released in North America sometime next year, though an exact date has not been revealed. However, the opening movie for the game (which is a bit under a minute and a half) has been put online by Bandai Namco Entertainment, so you can still get a feel for it. Take a look here:
The game has you playing Anya, and you get to create a photo diary with her. You can go to different places, play minigames, and get to see other characters like Loid and Yor Forger, Damian, Becky, Yuri, and Fiona.
When it becomes available in North America, people will be able to play it on Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC.
VIZ Media publishes the original SPY x FAMILY manga by Tatsuya Endo, and gave this description for its first volume:
Not one to depend on others, Twilight has his work cut out for him procuring both a wife and a child for his mission to infiltrate an elite private school. What he doesn’t know is that the wife he’s chosen is an assassin and the child he’s adopted is a telepath!
The manga began in 2019, and started its English release in 2020. With the series quickly growing popular, it wasn’t long before an anime adaptation was on the way. The TV anime adaptation debuted in 2022, and the second season came out this year. It is being simultaneously streamed by Crunchyroll.
Now that you’ve seen the opening movie, what are your thoughts on the upcoming SPYxANYA: Operation Memories game?
