What do you get when you mix the antics of SPY x FAMILY with the latest animated feature from Disney? Well, you get a crossover promotional campaign, of course. The SPY x FAMILY CODE: White anime film has teamed up with Disney’s Wish—which just opened in Japanese theaters last week—in a promotion not unlike their previous tie-in with Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One.
That is to say we got a special poster pairing that combines for a little crossover treat.
There’s also a promo video:
SPY x FAMILY CODE: White—which opens in Japan on December 22—is being made at WIT STUDIO and CloverWorks, with Takashi Katagiri helming the project as director. Katagiri has worked on SPY x FAMILY as a storyboarder, assistant director and episode director. Mangaka Tatsuya Endō is involved by supervising SPY×FAMILY CODE: White. The script was penned by Ichiro Okouchi, who has done series composition for the franchise before. Credit for music production goes to [K]NoW_NAME, while credit for character design goes to Kazuaki Shimada, and credit for chief animation directing goes to Kyoji Asano.
Crunchyroll plans to bring the anime film to U.S. cinemas in 2024. Here’s how they describe the TV anime:
World peace is at stake and secret agent Twilight must undergo his most difficult mission yet—pretend to be a family man. Posing as a loving husband and father, he’ll infiltrate an elite school to get close to a high-profile politician. He has the perfect cover, except his wife’s a deadly assassin and neither knows each other’s identity. But someone does, his adopted daughter who’s a telepath!
