Have you had a chance to check out the latest entries in the FLCL series, FLCL: Grunge and FLCL: Shoegaze? Whatever your opinion may be of the seasons that have come and gone since the original landmark anime, it sounds like this might be the last we see of it for the foreseeable future.
Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network Studios senior vice president of the anime and action/longform department, Jason DeMarco, commented on the future of the series. DeMarco said they’ve been happy with the performance of both Grunge and Shoegaze on Adult Swim, but “won’t be making any more.” He thanked fans for their assistance in the success of the new additions.
For those who are wondering, Adult Swim considers Grunge and Shoegaze ratings successes and is very happy with their performance. We will won’t be making any more, but thank you to everyone who helped make them a success, you taking the time to watch means a lot.

FLCL: Grunge made its Adult Swim debut on September 9, followed by FLCL: Shoegaze on September 30. They followed the acts of FLCL Alternative and FLCL Progressive, the first sequels to the original six-episode series.
