A new trailer has dropped for the anime My Love Story With Yamada-kun at Lv999, which is based on the manga Loving Yamada at Lv999! (a.k.a. Yamada-kun to Lv999 no Koi wo Suru in Japanese). The trailer is just under two minutes long, and our most detailed look at the anime yet.

More information was additionally given on the My Love Story With Yamada-kun at Lv999‘s website. This includes that fact that the opening theme song is titled “Gradation feat. Yūho Kitazawa” and performed by KANA-BOON, and that the ending theme song is called “Trick Art” and performed by Ryūjin Kiyoshi.

Here are the newly revealed cast members: Saori Ōnishi plays Momoko Maeda, Nobuo Tobita plays Takezo Kamota, and Rio Tsuchiya plays Yukari Tsubaki.

Looking toward the crew, it was just announced that Tomoyuki Shimizu is in charge of art direction, Harue Ono is in charge of color design, Hayato Aragaki is the 3D director, Junko Sakai is in charge of directing photography, Kashiko Kimura is taking care of editing, Jin Aketagawa is the sound director, Yui Ando is taking care of the sound effects, and EGG FIRM is producing.

The anime is being made at MADHOUSE, with Morio Asaka of Chihayafuru and My Love Story!! helming the project as the director.

The original manga is published in English by the digital manga app Mangamo, which gave this description for the plot:

“Recently dumped, Akane is just about to quit the game she used to play with her boyfriend, when she meets Yamada in the same RPG. Yamada in real life turns out to be somewhat of a legend. The only problem is – he is ONLY interested in the game. As Akane’s feelings grow, will Yamada’s focus stay on the game?”

The Grand Prize of 2022’s Annual Tsutaya Comic Awards went to the manga.
