The Blue Exorcist manga is taking a brief break, but not for the usual reason. Rather than citing any illnesses or physical pain, author Kazue Kato said the series will be taking two months off in the monthly Jump SQ. magazine so she can take a break from working so hard on the next chapter.
Here’s what Kato said in the tweet below, as translated by Crunchyroll News:
“I will be taking a two-month break from publication.
It’s not due to my health, I am in a good physical condition and working fine! This is due to the fact that the amount of drawings for the next chapter has exceeded one month’s worth of work and this is just to adjust for the overwork.
I’m sorry to keep you all waiting again and I appreciate your patience!”

The Blue Exorcist manga’s latest break will be during the March and April 2023 issues of Jump SQ., which means we’ll get to see the next chapter when it debuts in the May 2023 issue in early March.
Blue Exorcist returned after a nine-month hiatus back in May of last year.
The Blue Exorcist manga first kicked off in 2009, and has since been adapted in the form of two TV anime series, OVAs, a movie, novels and stage plays. A new anime adaptation was announced in December.
VIZ Media publishes the Blue Exorcist manga in English and describes it:
