A live-action series based on a pair of Hikaru Utada’s classic songs, First Love Hatsukoi, is coming to Netflix worldwide on November 24. Ahead of that, the Netflix Asia YouTube channel went up with a brand new teaser trailer to sample some of what’s to come.
Hikari Mitsushima stars in the series as Noguchi Yae alongside Takeru Satoh as Namiki Harumichi. The series is being both written and directed by Yuri Kanchiku, and you can see the new teaser below.
Here’s how Netflix sums up the story:
A new story has been crafted through inspiration from two songs by Hikaru Utada: the 1999 smash hit and musical gem “First Love,” and “Hatsukoi,” released 19 years later. The story follows a couple retracing their memories of their unforgettable first love over the course of more than 20 years and spanning three decades: the late ’90s, the 2000s, and the present.
