Prima Doll Anime Reveals July 8 Premiere Date

The TV anime portion of Key’s mixed media project Prima Doll now has a premiere date in Japan. The series will officially kick off on July 8, and a new key visual and full trailer arrived along with the latest news. 

Check out the footage—featuring a preview of the opening theme song, “Tin Toy Melody,” written and composed by Jun Maeda and arranged by MANYO—in the video below.

Tensho (Rewrite) is directing the anime, with Touya Akano and Kai on scripts and series composition and Akane Yano on character designs for the Bibury Animation Studios production.

Characters include Haizakura (VA: Azumi Waki / Design: Na-Ga), Karasuba (VA: Tomori Kusunoki / Design: fuzichoco), Gekka (VA: Miyu Tomita / Design: Yui Hara), Houkiboshi (VA: Yuki Nakashima / Design: En Morikura), and Retzel (VA: Akari Kito / Design: lack).

Synopsis:

Cafe Kurokoneko-tei. It is a coffee shop located in a corner of the 5th district of the Imperial Capital. Working there are girls who are autonomous mechanical dolls (automata), the culmination of the best of technology. The Great War just ended a few years ago. The girls were created as weapons there. Eventually, the peace that followed the war arrived. Restored to look as good as new, dressed in shiny kimonos, they are looking for a new role, and singing in high spirits. Wouldn’t you like to spend a wonderful time with them?
