Engage Kiss Anime Drops Promotional Trailer Ahead of July Debut

The anime Engage Kiss will make its premiere on July 2, and in the meantime it just dropped its first full promotional trailer. In it you can hear the opening theme song “Dare-Kare Scramble” (translated as “Everyone, Scramble”) being performed by halca. The trailer also gives more info on the cast and staff.

It’s been described as a “completely unpredictable romantic comedy,” and is a segment of the larger Project Engage franchise. There’s also going to be an Engage Kill smartphone game produced by Square Enix.

According to the trailer, Rumi Okubo has been cast to play Sharon Holygrail. In terms of main characters, Sōma Saitō plays Shu Ogata, Saya Aizawa plays Kisara, and Lynn plays Ayano Yugiri. The anime is being made at A-1 Pictures and directed by Tomoya Tanaka. The task of music composition goes to Yoshiaki Fujisawa, who has also worked on Love Live! School idol project and Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation.

Both the script writing and script supervising jobs go to Fumiaki Maruto, who previously worked on the Saenai Heroine no Sodate-kata light novels and the White Album 2 visual novels.

Megumi Katagiri is credited for Original Demon Design, Shinpei Wada is credited for Animation Demon Design, and Kenji Teraoka is credited for Weapons Design. Takeshi Takadera is the Sound Director, Yohei Miyawaki is the Compositing Director of Photography, Yoshihiro Kanno is the Action Choreographer, Hirokatsu Maruyama is the Action Director, and Nanako Okazaki is the Color Key Artist.

The trailer dropped during a live-stream session about the anime, and the next live-stream session is set for June 4, about a month before the anime comes out. Hopefully we’ll learn more cool stuff then!
