Kohei Horikoshi’s My Hero Academia manga is about to have its artwork on full display in a new way. The series’ first original art exhibition has been announced, with My Hero Academia Exhibition: DRAWING SMASH to be held in Tokyo and Osaka in 2021.
The My Hero Academia exhibition will feature original drawings by Kohei Horikoshi, as well as video screenings, storyboards and other pieces of work from Studio BONES, and three-dimensional exhibits. There will also be original merchandise available featuring the key visual by Horikoshi.
That key visual has the creator cramming in an amazing 24 characters from the series. Here’s what Horikoshi had to say about the event:
“I never thought I would be able to hold an original art exhibition, and after hearing about it from the editor in charge, I had a stomach ache with anxiety. I’m working on various stuff to ensure that visitors will never lose anything!”

The first stop for the exhibition is Tokyo’s Mori Arts Center Gallery from April 23 to June 27, 2021, after which it will move over to the Grant Front Osaka North Building’s Knowledge Capital Event Lab / Knowledge Theater from July 16 to September 5.
