Spirited Away Antagonist Yubaba Wants Everyone to Wear Masks

You know things are getting serious when Yubaba, the main antagonist from Hayao Miyazaki’s Spirited Away, has to swoop in to promote mask usage during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Studio Ghibli character can now be seen taking care of herself and others and practicing good public safety on a new poster to promote the Not-Big Ghibli Exhibition, which runs from July 22 to September 3.

The exhibition will be held at the Aichi Prefectural Museum of Art in Nagoya, and will feature design materials for the upcoming 2022 launch of the Ghibli amusement park. There will also be production materials from Goro Miyazaki’s new CG-animated movie, as well as an appearance by the Catbus from the Ghibli Museum.

To promote safety even further, all pieces at the exhibition will be displayed two meters (6.6 feet) apart, allowing visitors to admire the art while social distancing. Guests will also have their temperature taken before they enter, and will need to wear masks at all times while inside.
