It’s safe to say that Masayuki Suzuki’s OP theme song for KAGUYA-SAMA season 2—”DADDY! DADDY! DO! feat. Airi Suzuki”–is a bonafide hit. The music video for the singer’s 40th single hit YouTube on the same day as the TV anime’s premiere, was viewed a million times in the first two days, and has since managed to surpass 10 million views.
Here’s what Suzuki had to say about the song’s success, via Crunchyroll:
“I’m Masayuki Suzuki, a big newcomer in the anison world. I’m very surprised that the music video for my latest single “DADDY ! DADDY ! DO ! feat. Airi Suzuki” has been viewed more than 10 million times on YouTube. It seems that this song has been listened to and watched by people in Japan and abroad. I was more than happy to read a comment, “Isn’t he Presley’s son?” To all the fans who have always supported Masayuki Suzuki and the fans of the anime “KAGUYA-SAMA: LOVE IS WAR,” thank you so much. I have also enjoyed watching the cover videos posted by a lot of people from overseas. I feel very honored that this song is loved all over the world.
