Fans of Girls und Panzer, the 2012 series about high school girls riding around in tanks, have been patiently looking forward to the new film version of the series, which was originally planned for 2014 but finally pushed back all the way to November of this year.
This weekend saw the release of a new 90-second trailer for the film as well as some information about promotional events set to occur throughout Japan prior to the film’s release.
First off, advance tickets for the sale went on sale June 6, and include original file folders with exclusive illustrations.
A radio program starring the Girls und Panzer voice actors will premiere July 4 on a radio station in Ibaraki, the setting for the series, and fans have a chance to view the recording of one of the episodes live.
If that wasn’t enough, the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra will perform a Girls und Panzer concert November 3, a few weeks before the film opens on November 21.
The Girls und Panzer film will be directed by original series director Tsutomu Mizushima, who’s also hard at work on Prison School. Here’s hoping the film is worth the wait!
