Puzzle RPG Puzzles and Dragons, originally released on iOS and Android back in 2012, has seen a number of collaborations, including with Evangelion, Dragon Ball Z Kai, and even Baskin-Robbins.
But the latest announcement is a bit of a shocker. According to Puzzles and Dragons creator GungHo Entertainment, they’re set to launch Puzzles and Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition this April.
The 3DS game will feature use “characters, settings and themes” from Super Mario Bros., according to ANN. GungHo also released a trailer for the game.
Plenty of video game creators license out their characters to other companies, but Nintendo generally isn’t one of them, preferring to keep total creative control over franchises like Mario, Zelda and Metroid (after the Philips Zelda games, who can blame them).
