May 17, 2011 The California-based FanimeCon, which takes place May 27-30 at the San Jose Convention Center, has already announced a slew of big names to their Guests of Honor lineup. The latest addition is master animator Fumio Iida, also known as SUEZEN.
Iida’s portfolio is pretty loaded, with an animation history ranging from works with Tatsunoko, Walk Disney Japan, 20th Century Fox and, of course, Gainax. At Gainax Iida has done Key Animation for Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not Advance), Gunbuster and quite a few others, and he worked as Animation Director on both Roujin Z and The Wings of Honneamise.
Iida also creates manga under the name SUEZEN. He will be taking part in Gainax-related panels and autograph sessions throughout FanimeCon. Head to the con’s Guests of Honor page for the full list of guests announced thus far!
