The availability of Cave’s long-running line of quality arcade shooters in North America has been uneven to say the least. Lately, however, it seems we’ve been getting access to more and more—especially if you also count the lack of region-locking on something like the Xbox 360 port of Mushihimesama Futari, which made it highly importable.
If this all sounds like Greek to you, all you need to know is that Cave is a developer responsible for some of the best vertical 2D “bullet hell” shooters of all time. They’re more than capable of bringing their excellent arcade shoot ’em up experiences to your living room, too, and the Xbox Live Arcade port of 1999 shooter Guwange should hopefully prove no different.
Best of all, Guwange isn’t a game fans are going to have to break the bank to import, as it’s getting a global XBLA release. Pricing and a release date have yet to be announced, but in the meantime you can head to your local game store and pick up the recent 360 port of Cave shooter Deathsmiles to tide you over. You won’t regret it.
