I’m going to eschew all of the obvious “whoa” jokes and just cut right to the chase. Things have been brewing for a while in regards to a Cowboy Bebop live-action movie, but it’s all really come to a head lately, and there’s a lot of talk about Keanu Reeves legitimately taking on the role of everyone’s favorite cool-as-ice bounty hunter. I can go either way with Reeves personally. When he’s on, he’s on, and when he’s not… well.
One thing that’s made clear from the interview with MTV, at least, is that he has a lot of appreciation for the source material and definitely “gets it.” I’d be interested in seeing what our fine readership thinks of this casting, as well as the decision to essentially make the film an elongated version of the “Red Eye” story.
